aioli - Is Palm Beach County’s Best Bakery Café Hiding in Plain Sight? (August 2026) Some places earn their crowds. aioli is one of them. Tucked along South Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach, aioli is a scratch bakery and café created by Chef Michael Hackman and his wife Melanie. Michael’s background includes The Breakers, Café L’Europe, and the Four Seasons Palm Beach. They opened aioli in 2014 and expanded it a year later to include the scratch artisan bakery that has become such an important part of the operation. Today, it has also earned Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition. What impressed me most is how successfully they combine volume with craftsmanship. This is a very busy neighborhood café, yet the food and baked goods still feel carefully made rather than mass-produced. A wall of beautiful house-made breads and a deep pastry case make it immediately clear that the bakery isn't an afterthought it’s at the heart of what they do. 💡 MICHAEL’S TIP Go early if the pastries are a priority for the largest selection as they open at 7 am. This cafe serves absolutely the best, freshest food of any restaurant in the area! The prices are very reasonable, the staff is very friendly and the service is great. Their bakery has items to die for with an amazing assortment of scrumptious items from fresh breads to deserts. There is a bit of a wait time because they are very busy but well worth it! If your looking for a quiet atmosphere to dine in this is not the place for you. But it's only noisy because it's packed with patrons (which is a good thing!) But, if you don't mind the noise you will be grateful you stopped in to Aioli because it is well worth it!

Aioli had the feel of a great big-city spot — lively, busy, and full of energy. I had the Grilled Italian, and it was an excellent take on a classic sandwich. The prosciutto added a lot of flavor, and the portion was just right. My wife had the spinach, tomato, and Parmesan quiche, which was lighter and fluffier than a typical quiche. We also tried the candied bacon, and it was truly candied — so good that we had to take some home to share with family. Overall, a terrific meal and a place I look forward to coming back to.

The coffee was wonderful, the pastries were spectacular, and the croissant sandwich was absolutely delicious — worth every penny. I tried to go back for the blueberry muffin, but it was already sold out, which honestly says a lot. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, and the whole place had such a great vibe. Definitely a spot I’d come back to.

This place was absolutely amazing. The food was incredible we were impressed with every bite. The sandwiches a the pastries were all great. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. While the location was very busy the staff did not rush you and people cleared out fast enough to be able to find a table to sit and enjoy our food.
